June 25, 2011 - Hold on! All wire antennas were built and erected by these 4 ladies with supervision form Mark KC9GHQ. Denise (red cap), Diana KC9SLN (back to photo), Ruth KDØLUL (white shirt) and Michelle KC9TYL (yellow shirt). They are holding up the 35' mast while other club members attend to the guy lines.

June 25, 2011 - Good eats enjoyed by all who worked hard getting the antennas set up Saturday morning. Josh AG9K brought all the food and preparation equipment to assemble a fine Lunch, Dinner, and Breakfast.

June 25, 2011 - Mark KC9GHQ was in charge of all portable masts and dipole antenna erection. His helpers cut and built the dipoles while Mark measured out the correct distances between masts and made sure they were secure. An 80 and 40 meter dipole were stung end to end with a 15 meter inverted vee attached to the mast closest to the Command Center.

June 25, 2011 - The dipole mast was tilted up into position. Two sets of guys were used to keep it straight and take the strain from the dipoles. The mast was 30' high with an additional 5' of fiberglass mast on top which supported a 15 meter inverted vee.

June 25, 2011 - The Polk County Emergency Command Center was used for all radio positions and included a telescoping mast with a tri-band and 6 meter beam attached to a rotor. Inside the air conditioned Center were 4 radio set-ups. 80/15/6, 40, 10/15/20 and 2 meter packet. The on-board generator kept the radios fired up and the operators cool.

June 25, 2011 - "Please copy our 3 Foxtrot, Wisconsin!" Dan KB9OBF at the controls of the 40 meter phone station. Dan is a veteran of many field days and enjoys the set up and operations. He also positions the Command Center and makes sure it's level before antennas are attached.
